RE;CODE supports a new creative environment lead by the designers and the artisans and utilizes the deadstock from the company’s warehouses, military waste, and industrial waste used in designs to deconstruct and washing the materials, cooperation with the socially marginalized groups take part.
Kolon launched RE;CODE in 2012, aiming at the unprecedented move by a Korean major fashion company embodying sustainable fashion based on the virtuous cycle of limited resources and ethical values as a rebound on fast fashion. RE;CODE is a conscious brand with the perspective to design and produce new creations in design and sustainability from revalued industrial wastes upcycling. Our mission is to reduce discarded materials and inventories, improvising the value of 'Togetherness'.
Everyone and each of its unique design come with different stories. Each design reminds us of an art piece, and fashion trend is enough a word to describe the final creation. RE;CODE has presented its clothes filled with endless inspirations and stories at art projects, environment forums and international fashion shows since its launch.
In 2016, RE;CODE added two product lines to the brand portfolio: RE;COLLECTION line reforms the clothes brought to the shop by the customers: RE;NANO line offers clothes with added parts of deadstock for more fun. RE;CODE is renewing itself to become more accessible to people while maintaining its brand integrity. It is concentrating on upcycling to focus more on its core values in protecting the environment, sharing with and improving the society, and imparting the sense of community.

In order to discover, create, and refine something for a new season from our clothes and the objects around us, we need people to come together, and we need to have faith that new beauty will always exist around us. The design direction of Recode is not about hoping that Recode itself becomes art, but about respecting the inherent beauty found in the things we collect and rearranging them in various forms during the process of refining and recombining.
For the 24SS season, the things Recode discovers and collects from its inventory will be placed throughout the collection in raw or refined forms, with the involvement of designers and our friends, either prominently or subtly.
