REBECCA ACKAERT
Rebecca Ackaert is a Belgium based Interior Architect with a Postgraduate degree in Furniture Design.
While being wildly inspired by our everyday surroundings and objects, she finds the key to wellbeing and sustainable living by evoking a sense of conscious usage. When we love to use an object, we don’t throw it away. What we don’t throw away, we pass on which connects us over generations.
Being fascinated by wood joinery and archetypes, Rebecca Ackaert designed the SZ_02 Dining Table. With this piece she finds stability without welding or using bolds. Bending and cutting the different components gives them the ability to hold each other together as one. Her soft approach towards working with steel stands in contrast with the rational, cold and hard connotation of the material.
