Formel is a contemporary design studio and manufacturer based in Paris. Beginning in 2018 as a collaboration between industrial designer Timothée Concaret and cabinetmaker Nicolas Mérigout, the studio was officially founded in 2019.
March 2019
They won the first prize of the Jury of the 12th edition of Cinna / Ligne Roset competition with their lamp Luce.
September 2019
They were part of “now le Off!” exhibition during the Paris Design Week and won the Vertbois Prize for their approach !
December 2019
They were part of the project “Nouvelle Destination” by SNCF Transilien among other designers.
September 2020
They were invited to come back again and to present their work during the Paris Design Week, among 25 promising designers selected by Maison&Objets.
Their aim is to combine industry and crafts by bringing evident and ethical objects into homes.
Their complementary skills make them able to work on every aspect of a design project, from drawings to self- production.
As designers, their approach is rational yet sensible. They create simple and timeless products that improve daily life. In addition, as makers, their passion for details leads them to make each part visible, as a tribute to how things are made.
They work with a wide variety of clients including Ligne Roset and Kataba, making no distinction between furniture, lighting and accessories. They also produce their own furniture collection, designed and made by hand in their workshop near Paris.
