Typical Freaks is a bold, colorful and conceptual fashion brand from London. Designed by central saint martins ma fashion graduate (2012). Seun ade-onojobi and london college of fashion womenswear graduate (2008) sonia xiao, the brand aims to provide an eccentric statement on fashion, full of humour, craftsmanship and integrity.
Their trademark hand painted and printed garments are often imbued with a mature sensitivity and dark, punky undertones.
The two designers begun by making and customising footwear and jewellery as a side project while studying together on the ba fashion design technology at london college of fashion. Focusing on colour and pattern, the two were prominent designers in the underground nu-rave scene during the mid-2000s
Their most recent collection for spring/summer 2017, took inspiration from 'master clean' - a vintage, nigerian magazine, teaching people how to make their own clothes.
Ultimately, typical freaks is about catering to those who wish to be seen, who revel in the space they inhabit outside of the mainstream and enjoy wearing an item that comes with a story - beautifully designed with love and integrity.
