The SS19 collection is about obsessive sexuality, more directly that of men in Paris late 70s-early 80s Pre-AIDS era. An ode to those decadent dandies that lost their life victims of the hedonism.
You may think that this is about the traditions of tailoring but what you are actually seeing is a perverse dedication to committed knitting, making up the textiles than adorn these highly desired men.
Fully fashioned knitted tailoring -becoming a hybrid in between a knitted cardigan and a tailored jacket, knitted and felted merino coats, knitted denim and knitted “fake poplin” are some of the fabrics and garments created to form this entirely knitted wardrobe. Creating these highly-attractive “objects of desire” that might seem instantly mundane but in fact taps into reverse dedication to new knit techniques and modern tailoring.
Creation of an entirely knitted collection that intends to challenge the audience pre conceived idea on what the limits of knitwear design can be and re interpreting traditional tailoring by simplifying it to its maximum and dedicating all the labour to specially engineered knits.
